Position Summary
Functions in accordance
with the provision of the Registered Nurses Act or Registered Psychiatric
Nurses Act, The Mission Statement, Goals, Policies and Procedures of
Middlechurch Home of Winnipeg, Collective Agreements, and Human Rights.
The nursing coordinator is a member of an interdisciplinary resident care
team, and works in coordination with residents/families, medical,
professional and support staff to achieve the mission of Middlechurch Home
of Winnipeg for quality resident/client care. This is an out of scope
managerial position.
Schedule may be rotated to work the day, evening or night shift.
Major responsibilities include coordination of resident care delivery and
service; management of human resources, monitoring of professional
standards, quality management, staff development, education and research
based practice.
Supervision Exercised
Provide supervision and
leadership and administration coordination for quality resident care.
Authority to discharge all assigned responsibilities and duties including:
hiring, orientation, training, assigning, planning, directing work, ensuring
performance evaluations, rewards and recognition , addressing complaints and
resolving problems and the progressive discipline process.
Special Working Conditions
May assume duties
of director of administration/director of nursing services during
periods of his/her absence.
May be required to be available for consultation, mentoring and
education and support on day, evening and night shifts.
